Software Engineer (Distributed Systems) at BairesDev
As a Software Engineer specializing in Distributed Systems, you will design and build the foundational architectures that power complex, large-scale computing environments. You will navigate the intricate trade-offs between latency, consistency, and availability to ensure system robustness and seamless performance across partitioned networks.
What You'll Do
Architect and implement distributed coordination and consensus protocols to manage global system state. Design highly available architectures that eliminate single points of failure through advanced replication and partitioning strategies. Optimize system-level services for high throughput and low latency, focusing on efficient inter-node communication. Develop and deploy robust fault-tolerance mechanisms, including self-healing processes and automated recovery. Define consistency models and solve complex concurrency challenges to maintain data integrity at scale. Evaluate and improve system performance by simulating and testing distributed failure scenarios. What We Are Looking For 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on systems programming and distributed systems. Proven expertise in distributed systems theory and practice, including consensus algorithms such as Raft, Paxos, or CRDTs. Proficiency in Go, Java, or Rust with a deep understanding of system design and latency/consistency tradeoffs. Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and concurrency. Experience building fault-tolerant and horizontally scalable solutions for complex, high-performance environments. Advanced proficiency in English. How we do make your work (and your life) easier: 100% remote work (from anywhere). Excellent compensation in USD or your local currency if preferred Hardware and software setup for you to work from home. Flexible hours: create your own schedule. Paid parental leaves, vacations, and national holidays. Innovative and multicultural work environment: collaborate and learn from the global Top 1% of talent. Supportive environment with mentorship, promotions, skill development, and diverse growth opportunities. Join a global team where your unique talents can truly thrive and make a significant impact Apply now
