🚀 Senior Backend Developer | Python, Data Engineering & GCP

At Think Us, we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a long-term project with a company in the Real Estate / Housing Data industry.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Python backend development, data engineering, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), capable of working with large datasets and taking features from end to end—from data ingestion and processing to APIs, frontend, and production deployment.

Requerimientos:

🔎 Requirements
6+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong experience with Python backend development and production APIs.
Experience with Google BigQuery and advanced SQL working with large datasets.
Production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with services such as:
Compute Engine
Cloud Storage
Pub/Sub
Monitoring and Load Balancing
Experience building ETL and data pipelines.
Experience with asynchronous processing, scheduled jobs, queues, and background processes.
Strong understanding of data architecture, system design, performance optimization, and debugging.
Working knowledge of React, JavaScript, or TypeScript to contribute to an existing frontend codebase.
Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
Strong knowledge of Git and modern software development practices.
Advanced English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international teams on a daily basis.
⭐ Nice to Have
Experience with PostHog or other product analytics tools.
Experience working with geographic or time-series data.
Experience with caching, data compression, and data packaging for high-traffic applications.
Experience in Real Estate / Housing Data products or platforms.
🎯 What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can take full ownership of features, from technical design and data pipelines through API development, frontend changes, deployment, and post-launch analysis.

This is not a role for someone focused exclusively on Data Engineering, CRUD applications, or frontend development. Backend, Data Engineering, and GCP should clearly be your strongest areas.
