Surgical Coordinator

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Bilingual Surgical Coordinator & Insurance Specialist to support our Surgery Department. This role requires someone who is knowledgeable in medical insurance verification and authorization processes and can effectively coordinate surgical procedures with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

Schedule

• Weekdays 8:30 AM 5:00 PM Pacific Time (30-minute unpaid lunch, 2 × 10-minute paid breaks).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations
• Communicate with patients regarding surgery schedules and requirements
• Coordinate with physicians, surgical facilities, and insurance providers
• Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and surgical documentation
• Follow up on referrals, authorizations, and surgery-related paperwork
• Provide general administrative support to the surgery department

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgery or specialty clinic
• Experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) Required
• Strong knowledge of medical insurance verification and prior authorization processes
• Experience coordinating surgeries and communicating with patients
• Excellent English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience working in a U.S. healthcare setting is highly preferred
