Remote Data Engineer

Are you passionate about building robust data architectures and scaling efficient pipelines in the cloud? We are looking for a Data Engineer to work closely with our Architects to build high-quality data pipelines supporting research, operational divisions, and public web applications.

This role is key to supporting current and future reporting and analytic solutions, requiring a deep understanding of data architecture, engineering, and reporting.

🎯 The Challenge

• Architect & Design: Build robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and cloud-native tools.
• Modern Modeling: Champion the implementation of Medallion Architecture and complex data schemas to support analytical and operational workloads.
• Optimization: Proactively identify and remediate bottlenecks in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud services.
• Infrastructure & CI/CD: Drive improvements in data platform monitoring, cost optimization, and failover strategies.
• Technical SME: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for data platforms, ensuring architectural consistency and data security across all services.

🛠️ What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or data platform development with production-grade solutions.
• Expertise: Demonstrated mastery of Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Coding: Proficiency in Python and/or Scala with a focus on building maintainable and testable solutions.
• Foundations: Deep understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and scalable ETL/ELT development.
• Pluses: Certifications in Azure or other cloud services; familiarity with Machine Learning methodologies.
