Position Summary:

​​​​​​​We are seeking a hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer to join our global Engineering team. This role is a hybrid of deep technical expertise and security-focused strategy. You will be responsible for building and implementing our cybersecurity policies and leading key cyber initiatives, with a strong emphasis on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Workspace) and healthcare compliance (HIPAA). The ideal candidate is an engineer at heart who applies a security-first mindset to all aspects of IT infrastructure and operations. You will be the subject matter expert on security, working alongside other engineers to design, build, and maintain a secure and compliant technology environment.

What You'll Do:

​​​​Policy & Strategic Initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and mature cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures aligned with HIPAA and NIST frameworks.
  • Lead and execute strategic cybersecurity initiatives, from tool selection and implementation to process improvement and architecture review.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments for new vendors, applications, and internal systems.
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
  • Design, deploy, and manage security-centric controls within our AWS infrastructure (e.g., IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CloudWatch).
  • Perform security-focused administration of Google Workspace, including implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP), access controls, and compliance policies.
  • Administer and enhance Identity and Access Management (IAM/IDP/SSO) systems to enforce least privilege, MFA, and role-based access control.
Security Operations & Compliance
  • Serve as the technical expert for incident response, investigations, and remediation.
  • Manage and operate security tools, including vulnerability management, EDR, and SIEM.
  • Partner with the IT team to manage and secure endpoints (MDM) and ensure device compliance with security standards.
  • Maintain and audit security configurations, logs, and access controls to ensure continuous compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Assist in development of IT Security Policies and GRC Support
What You'll Bring To The Team:
  •  Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proven experience as a Security Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Systems Engineer with a strong security focus.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing and securing AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC).
  • Strong expertise with Google Workspace administration, IDP/SSO platforms (Okta, Azure AD, or similar), and MDM solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Solid understanding of core networking, cloud security principles, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as part of a distributed team.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Certifications: Strongly Preferred: CompTIA Security+ OR CompTIA Network+ ○ Highly Valued: AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Security - Specialty. ○ Helpful: HCISPP (HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner).
