We are currently recruiting a
Solar Electrical Engineer / Estimator
to support a
U.S. electrical and solar construction company
focused on commercial and utility-scale projects. This role works directly with U.S. teams and requires strong technical expertise, autonomy, and
advanced English communication skills
.

Position Overview

The Solar Electrical Engineer / Estimator will be responsible for supporting
solar and electrical project estimating, takeoffs, and engineering analysis
for U.S.-based construction projects. This role combines
technical electrical knowledge
with
estimating and preconstruction responsibilities
, working closely with American project managers, engineers, and estimators.

This is a
hands-on, individual contributor role
, ideal for professionals with
3–4+ years of experience
in
solar electrical estimating or engineering
within the U.S. construction market.

Key Responsibilities
Solar & Electrical Estimating

• Prepare
  electrical and solar project estimates
  by analyzing drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform
  quantity takeoffs
  for electrical systems, solar PV components, conduit, wiring, panels, inverters, and related materials.
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for solar and electrical scopes.
• Support bid preparation for
  commercial and utility-scale solar projects
  .

Engineering & Technical Support

• Review and interpret
  electrical and solar plans
  , one-lines, schematics, and construction documents.
• Assist with
  electrical load calculations
  , system layouts, and technical clarifications.
• Ensure estimates and designs comply with
  NEC, local codes, and U.S. construction standards
  .
• Coordinate revisions and updates to engineering and estimating documents.

Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate directly with
  U.S.-based teams
  (project managers, engineers, estimators).
• Participate in meetings and provide technical explanations
  in English
  .
• Prepare technical summaries, reports, and documentation for U.S. stakeholders.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in
  Electrical Engineering
  or a related field.
• 3–4+ years of experience
  as a
  Solar Electrical Engineer, Electrical Estimator, or Solar Electrical Estimator
  .
• Proven experience working with
  solar PV systems
  (commercial or utility-scale preferred).
• Strong understanding of:
• Electrical construction drawings and specifications
• Solar PV systems and electrical infrastructure
• U.S. electrical codes (NEC) and construction standards
• Experience with estimating and engineering tools such as:
• AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit
• Excel (advanced)
• Estimating software (ConEst, Accubid, PlanSwift, or similar)
• English level C1 or higher (mandatory)

• Able to lead technical conversations
• Write and review documentation in English
• Participate confidently in U.S. meetings

Work Model & Location

• Hybrid position in Medellín, Colombia
• Candidates must
  currently live in Medellín or be willing to relocate
• Monday–Friday schedule aligned with
  U.S. business hours
• Availability to work
  Colombian holidays when required
  by U.S. project deadlines
• Long-term role with exposure to
  U.S. solar and electrical construction projects
