Descripción
The UX/UI Systems Designer is a hybrid role that combines structured UX thinking with refined interface design and system contribution. This designer balances user-centered problem solving with visual clarity and development alignment—helping to evolve and scale the design of web experiences that are both thoughtful and implementation-ready.

In addition to designing responsive interfaces and flows, this role serves as a systems-minded bridge between design and development. They help maintain consistency, improve design-to-dev workflows, and ensure shared standards—such as design tokens, component naming, and documentation—are upheld across the team. The designer will work across a family of brands and customer segments and is expected to develop a strong understanding of user needs to help elevate digital experiences.

The UX/UI Systems Designer is part of our Corporate Digital Experience team reporting to the Sr. Manager, Global Digital Design. We are a global team that supports Gallagher's family of brands on our public-facing websites.

UX & UI Design

• Translate stakeholder and user needs into user flows, wireframes, and responsive high-fidelity UI designs.
• Bring structure and clarity to content-rich or complex digital experiences through thoughtful information architecture, layout, and interaction planning.
• Deliver visually polished, on-brand digital experiences that align with the design system, accessibility standards, and responsive best practices.
• Design across a family of brands and customer segments, tailoring experiences to meet distinct audience needs and business goals.
• Apply an understanding of customer behaviors and needs to improve usability and effectiveness of digital experiences.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with digital design teammates to maintain consistency in component use, interaction patterns, and system thinking.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Content, Research, SEO, Development, and Art Direction teams to shape cohesive and usable solutions.
• Participate actively in design critiques, agile rituals (e.g., sprint planning, standups), and collaborative working sessions.
• Share and receive feedback that supports high standards, team alignment, and continual improvement.

Design System Contribution

• Apply and extend existing design system components, patterns, and tokens as part of daily design work.
• Identify opportunities to improve system scalability, documentation clarity, or usage consistency, and partner with Product teams and Design Ops to evolve shared resources.

Design-Development Bridge

• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure shared understanding of design intent, structural logic, and responsive behavior.
• Help close the gap between design and implementation by aligning on token usage, component naming, and layout logic.
• Structure Figma files, specs, and documentation in ways that support clarity, efficiency, and cross-team trust.

Acerca de ti

• 4-6 years of experience in UX and UI design for digital products and/or responsive web.
• A portfolio showing clean, systematic design thinking and layout skills across real-world digital experiences.
• Strong proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, libraries, documentation best practices).
• Solid understanding of user flows, IA, and web accessibility standards.
• Experience collaborating directly with developers and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and participating in sprint-based workflows.

Additional Desirable Skills:

• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
• Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML/CSS/JS) and modern frameworks
• Comfort communicating token-based systems and layout logic to developers
• Light motion or interaction design sensibilities
• Experience working with enterprise CMS platforms such as Sitecore or Adobe AEM
