Your Role

As a Bilingual Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA), you will be an essential part of both clinical and administrative operations for healthcare providers in the U.S. This fully remote role is ideal for medical graduates seeking a professional career opportunity with the potential for growth in an international healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Manage physician schedules and patient appointments.
  • Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately.
  • Handle documentation, prior authorizations, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Clinical Assistance

  • Prepare patient charts and coordinate lab and diagnostic orders.
  • Communicate lab and imaging results to patients professionally and empathetically.
  • Assist with medication management, treatment plans, and follow-ups.
  • Enroll patients in support programs (medication assistance, transportation, disability benefits, housing, and food services).

Patient Engagement

  • Serve as a compassionate liaison between patients, physicians, pharmacies, and healthcare providers.
  • Provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients about their care.
  • Offer outstanding customer service with a positive, professional attitude.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Medical Graduate with clinical experience in diverse settings (hospital, clinic, private practice, etc.).
  • 1–2 years of experience in clinical and/or administrative healthcare roles.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with EHR systems.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal).

Technical & Personal Requirements:

  • Must reside in Colombia and be available to work U.S. time zones.
  • Technologically proficient (comfortable navigating computers, EHR platforms, fax machines, and printers).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Google Workspace.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, private home workspace.
