Civil Engineering IV

AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is seeking for a Civil Engineer or Geological Engineer specialist in Geotechnical Engineering to join our Ground Engineering team. This role will be important in designing geotechnical infrastructure focusing on earth movements, slope stability, retaining structures and foundations.

Responsibilities:

• Geotechnical design: Perform geotechnical designs for geotechnical infrastructure such as earth movements, slope stability, retaining structures and foundations.
• Leadership: Provides guidance to support engineers and CAD Technicians.
• Specialized Technical Expertise: Provides specialized knowledge to studies and designs in geotechnical engineering in relation to earth movements, slope stability, retaining structures and foundations.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews to ensure cohesive and fully integrated designs.
• Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of geotechnical designs, calculations, and drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
• Technical Specifications: Prepare and manage technical specification sections related to geotechnical designs, ensuring they meet project requirements.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Assist in the preparation of engineering budgets and schedules to align with project´s goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or engineering geology with 6 years of experience in geotechnical design for projects related to earth movements, slope stabilization, retaining structures and foundations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master´s degree in geotechnical engineering or in civil engineering with emphasis in geotechnical engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, at least 5 of those in geotechnical design for projects related to earth movements, slope stabilization, retaining structures and foundations.
• Experience in modeling and design of earth movements, slope stability, retaining structures and foundations.
• Proficiency with at least one engineering software in finite element analysis for deformation and flow analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one engineering software package for geotechnical engineering (e.g. GEO 5, Rocscience). General knowledge in drawing software like Auto CAD or Civil 3D.
• Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people.
• Advanced command of English, both written and spoken.
• Lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings for geotechnical engineering projects.
• Experience working with Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
• Knowledge of local and international American and European regulations.
• General knowledge in use of GIS software.
• Experience in projects in rocks.
