Who we are

Instiglio's mission is to build public institutions that truly work for societies and the planet. We exist to unlock the potential of public institutions — not by chasing marginal gains, but by reimagining and rebuilding them from the inside out.

We partner with governments and development actors (e.g., the World Bank, FCDO, Hilton Foundation) to align public funding with measurable outcomes and strengthen the systems, incentives, and capabilities that drive sustained impact. Over the past decade, we have worked in more than 30 low- and middle-income countries, helping institutions design and embed reforms that make every cent of public funding deliver public value.

To scale our impact, we incubated the Government Empowerment Network (GEN) —  a globally networked, AI-powered, and government-led reform accelerator designed to empower civil servants to incubate reforms that transform government institutions, strengthen service delivery, and improve citizens' lives. GEN combines a six-month in-person reform incubator with an AI-enabled learning and collaboration platform, equipping champions to diagnose systemic challenges, design reforms, and strengthen delivery capabilities across ministries. Following a successful first cohort in Uganda with over 30 public servants from six ministries, we recently launched in Colombia, followed by Morocco later this year. In 2026, we plan to consolidate learnings and expand to at least two additional countries in 2026, while continuing to support current countries. 

Our team

A core contributing factor to the influence Instiglio has had thus far includes our collaborative, highly skilled and diverse team. We are a team of 80+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, with offices in Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius and Uganda. Our team brings together experience from government, management consulting, multilateral institutions, and the social sector; united by a mission to help governments perform better for their people.

How you will make an impact

You will join a growing, entrepreneurial team delivering on impactful projects to enhance development outcomes in different countries. Within the team, Interns will work directly with a team composed of a Project Lead, Project Manager(s), Senior Associates, Associates, and/or Analysts to deliver high-quality services.  As an Intern, you will:

Facilitate problem-solving and help improve program designs for our public sector clients.Prepare deliverables and high-quality presentations for clients in Spanish and English.Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings.Execute qualitative and quantitative data analysis.Support the growth and development of our organization through initiatives such as business development, etc.

Who you are

We are growing a team of resourceful go-getters who are driven by our mission, curious about the world, and dedicated to a life of learning. Our ideal candidate is a Bachelor's degree holder or is in their final year awaiting graduation, and is looking to kick start their career in the international development space. They will need to meet the following requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Government, Public Policy, Business, Economics, Engineering or related fields. (You have completed your undergraduate program or are in your final year).

Language skills:

Full written and oral working proficiency in Spanish (C2) and English (C1).

Skills:

Highly analytical with excellent numerical accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Sharepoint, Excel, Powerpoint and Word), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).Ability to synthesize technical information into simple concepts and analyze information critically.Ability to work independently.High organizational skills and attention to detail.A team player attitude and enthusiasm for relational work with clients.Passion for national and international development.How you can grow with us

Interns at Instiglio have a chance to develop a variety of skills, support in client-facing roles on projects, with the guidance of more experienced senior staff. On the condition of excellent performance, this position could convert to a full-time position. Instiglio has a strong feedback culture, with all staff receiving bi-annual formal, structured reviews, in addition to real-time feedback. Additionally, a mentorship system and development plans are in place to ensure that staff receive proper support in their professional development.

Working model and benefits

The successful candidates will be based in our Bogota office and the opportunity is open to Colombians or those with a right to work in Colombia. In addition to the paid internship opportunity, Instiglio offers generous benefits, which include a flexible hybrid working model (team members going to the office two times a week for face-to-face connection opportunities), personal days, remote work days, and a company holiday in addition to vacation, among others.
