The Database Administration Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our Microsoft SQL Server databases. This role focuses on daily operations and optimization tasks, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance improvements. Key duties include managing user access, implementing backups, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues, and creating database scripts to support business needs. The role requires participation in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, and working on projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Install and configure MS SQL Server instances and migrate databases
• Apply patches and upgrade database systems
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts and manage permissions
• Set up database backups and perform data restorations
• Configure maintenance plans and generate reports
• Develop database scripts to meet business requirements
• Monitor database systems and perform regular health checks
• Tune database performance and apply best practices
• Work on projects and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot problems, analyze issues, and implement solutions
• Investigate root causes of incidents and take corrective actions
• Participate in on-call duties to resolve critical database issues

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or related field.
• 2 to 5 years of practical experience managing MS SQL Server - DB2 databases.
• Knowledge / Exposure / Experience with Cloud Database Platforms (AWS / Azure)
• Experience with IT infrastructure technologies is a plus.
• Ability to work well with others and motivate the team.
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues.
• Ability to manage simple projects independently.
