AI Engineer (contract)

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Engineer to take ownership of our AI initiatives, driving the development and integration of AI/ML solutions across our products and services. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AI models, particularly focusing on LLMs (Large Language Models) and other advanced AI technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify use cases, provide technical guidance, and ensure AI solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
 AI Model Development & Optimization:

 Design, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs and other AI/ML models to solve business challenges.  Optimize models for efficiency, scalability, and performance.

 Implement prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model fine-tuning strategies as needed.

 Software Development & Engineering:

 Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, leveraging AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face.

 Develop and maintain APIs and integrations that allow AI models to interact with internal and external systems.  Ensure robust testing, debugging, and performance tuning of AI models and services.

 AI Strategy & Guidance:

 Provide technical leadership and guidance on AI implementation best practices.

 Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals.

 Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and trends to identify new opportunities.

 AI Infrastructure & Deployment:

 Deploy and manage AI models in production environments using cloud platform (Azure).

 Implement MLOps best practices, ensuring continuous monitoring, retraining, and version control of AI models.  Manage data pipelines for training and inference, ensuring high-quality and secure data handling.

 Ethics & Compliance:

 Ensure AI models align with ethical standards, privacy regulations, and company policies.  Conduct regular audits for model bias, fairness, and explainability.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:

 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with hands-on experience working with LLMs.

 Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI API.

 Experience deploying AI models in cloud environments (Azure or AWS).

 Familiarity with MLOps tools for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.  Knowledge of NLP, deep learning, and generative AI techniques.

 Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as the AI engineering lead.

 Excellent communication skills to provide technical guidance and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

English language proficiency of C1 or higher.

Nice to Have:

 Experience with LLM fine-tuning and customization (LoRA, RLHF, PEFT).

 Hands-on experience with AI-driven automation, chatbots, or search augmentation.  Background in data engineering for AI model training.

 Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB) for RAG implementations.  Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines for AI deployment.

 Understanding of ethical AI principles, privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and compliance best practices.
