About the Position

We are seeking a Mid-Level Process Design Engineer to join our growing Process team in our Bogotá office. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in process design related to the energy sector. Experience in Oil & Gas, especially in midstream and biogas, is valued. The candidate will support a variety of multidisciplinary energy projects and will also interact with clients.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Over 5 years of experience in energy, specifically in Oil & Gas, midstream, and biogas or in mechanical process design engineering.
• Advanced experience in engineering design principles, applicable guides, codes, and standards.
• Full understanding of process design and management of process engineering work.
• Ability to deliver presentations to clients.
• Ability to produce complete process engineering documents and review vendor drawings and specifications.
• Ability to design P&IDs and supervise the drafting team.
• Ability to size and generate equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with equipment, piping, and instrumentation specification and installation.
• Experience with process simulation (e.g., ASPEN Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, Promax, PRO II).
• Experience with hydraulic software (e.g., AFT Fathom, Arrow, PIPE-FLO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Biochemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities:

• Lead process engineering tasks in a multidisciplinary environment under general supervision.
• Deliver process engineering deliverables on time, within budget, and with the quality and accuracy expected by clients.
• Knowledge of process design and process safety.
• Develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment specifications, equipment data sheets, and cost studies. Support layout development.
• Supervise the P&ID drafting team.
• Review and approve process deliverables.
• Create project-specific design basis, incorporate client requirements, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Identify and report changes in project scope to the supervisor.
• Produce optimal designs, engineering calculations, preliminary designs, and material lists suitable for cost estimates.
• Review vendor fabrication drawings and other construction documents to verify process design, industry codes/standards, and good engineering practices.
• Coordinate and consult with other disciplines to ensure quality and workflow of the project.
• Participate in client presentations.
