About The Role
We are seeking an Intermediate-Level Customer Service & Drayage Coordinator with strong experience in intermodal logistics. This role requires full ownership of drayage operations, rail coordination, load management, documentation, and proactive problem-solving for container movements in and out of the Salt Lake City terminal. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, autonomous, and capable of managing end-to-end logistics processes in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
Drayage & Intermodal Coordination
- Coordinate container pickups and deliveries (drayage) to and from the Salt Lake City terminal.
- Monitor and manage rail operations with the railroads serving the Utah region.
Load Entry & System Management
- Accurately input all load information into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Maintain an updated and accurate load book to ensure traceability and correct billing.
Critical Date Management (Exports)
- Verify and monitor ERD and Cut-Off deadlines for all export loads.
- Ensure strict compliance from carriers and clients regarding critical dates.
Track & Trace
- Constantly monitor the location and status of containers through rail systems and internal tools.
Customer Service & Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates.
- Inform clients about potential delays, changes, or issues affecting their loads.
Issue Resolution
- Handle and resolve unexpected situations such as:
- Gate issues
- Chassis splits
- Per diem
- Demurrage
- Work proactively to minimize client impact and delays.
Required Experience & Must-Haves (Non-Negotiables)
- 2–3 years of experience in Customer Service within the Intermodal and Drayage Logistics industry.
- Strong rail knowledge and operational experience with railroads in the Utah region.
- Proven proficiency in TMS systems (load entry, order management, documentation).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and self-managed in a remote environment.
- Proactive, dynamic, and solution-oriented professional.
