Data-Oriented Software Engineer

Full-Time | Remote (LATAM Only) | $18–$20/hr | Contractor

Position Overview

We are seeking a
Data-Oriented Software Engineer
with strong expertise in
.NET (C#)
and a passion for building data-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have experience developing scalable backend systems and applications that process, analyze, and visualize large datasets using modern cloud and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and data-driven solutions
  • Integrate backend services with
    Snowflake
    and other big data platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following engineering best practices
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements and stay updated on cloud and big data trends

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Hands-on experience with databases and data platforms (e.g.,
    Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery
    )
  • Strong experience writing and optimizing
    SQL
    queries
  • Proficiency in
    .NET (C#)
    for backend development
  • Experience building and consuming
    RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with big data concepts and ETL tools (Estuary, OpenFlow, Apache NiFi, etc.)
  • Experience working with
    Git
    and
    CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Good understanding of software security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with cloud platforms like
    Microsoft Azure
    or
    AWS
  • Familiarity with
    Docker
    and containerization tools
  • Understanding of
    CI/CD
    and DevOps practices
  • Basic knowledge of
    React/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience working in
    Agile/Kanban
    environments
