Senior Developer Python

Summary

We are looking for a new GIGAnte to join our team as an Senior Developer Python.
The candidate will be working on one of our client's products performing maintenance tasks and creating new functionalities. This product allows their clients to track and survey wildlife through GPS tracking and artificial intelligence algorithms.

What You'll Do 

• Develop and maintain Python (3.x) code for our client's SaaS product, applying modern best practices such as asynchronous programming, type hints, packaging, and clean project structure.
• Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and scale new features across multiple layers of the stack (service interfaces, backend systems, and data stores).
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework; bonus if you have experience with WebSockets or real-time interfaces (e.g., Socket.IO).
• Design, implement, and operate event-driven or distributed systems using tools such as Celery, Pub/Sub, or similar.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery by implementing unit testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
• Optimize and improve the existing software architecture with strong consideration for performance, multi-tenant environments, and scalability.
• Work with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes for deploying and managing the product in production environments; experience with AWS or Azure is a plus (GCP preferred).
• Use relational and non-relational data engines such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate closely with the Django team to integrate new functionalities into the product.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, planning sessions, and code reviews to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Proactively identify roadblocks, performance bottlenecks, and risks, and execute strategies to resolve them.
• Champion continuous learning, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making within the team.
  
  

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Solid background building backend systems and SaaS applications in Python, preferably modern Python (3.x).
• Proven experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience working with distributed, real-time, or event-driven systems (Celery, Pub/Sub, or equivalents).
• Experience working with multi-tenant architectures and performance considerations at scale.
• Strong understanding of application security (data at rest and public-facing interfaces).
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems on Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
• Practical experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration in production environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong agile background with a delivery-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of outcomes.
• Proactive problem-solver who anticipates risks and resolves issues efficiently.
• Commitment to continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex software solutions that delight customers.
