Digital Marketing Assistant Role Overview

The Digital Marketing Assistant (B2B Social Media & Paid Ads) is an entry-level execution role supporting the day-to-day setup, monitoring, and basic optimisation of B2B paid media and social media campaigns for industrial and professional services clients.

This role reports to the Growth & Digital Strategic Team Leader (B2B). It is designed for someone early in their digital marketing career who is eager to learn B2B performance marketing fundamentals, paid media platforms, and structured execution processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign Execution & Support

  • Assist with the setup of paid media and social campaigns based on approved briefs and templates.
  • Support campaign launches across platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, and Meta Ads.
  • Implement ad creatives, copy, targeting, budgets, and tracking links.

Monitoring & Basic Optimisation

  • Perform routine campaign checks (spend, delivery, basic performance indicators).
  • Flag performance issues, errors, or inconsistencies to senior team members.
  • Apply optimisations (pausing ads, adjusting budgets, updating creatives).

Reporting & Data Updates

  • Update performance dashboards and reports using predefined formats.
  • Track metrics such as impressions, clicks, CPL, and spend.
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting processes.

Process & Quality Control

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), naming conventions, and QA checklists.
  • Ensure campaigns are set up correctly and align with brand guidelines and platform policies.
  • Maintain organised documentation and task updates in ClickUp.

Skills & ExperienceDigital Marketing Foundations

  • 1–2 years of experience in digital marketing, paid media, or social media.
  • Understanding of digital advertising and social media platforms.
  • Interest in B2B marketing and performance-driven campaigns.

Paid Media Exposure

  • Exposure to one or more ad platforms such as:

  • LinkedIn Campaign Manager

  • Google Ads
  • Meta Business Manager

  • Willingness to learn platform best practices and optimisation techniques.

B2B & Funnel Awareness

  • Basic awareness of B2B marketing funnels.
  • Familiarity with concepts like leads, landing pages, and conversion tracking.

Tools & Platforms

  • Paid media platforms
  • Google Analytics
  • ClickUp for task management (is a plus)
  • CRM familiarity (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) is a plus

Attention to Detail & Execution

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with repetitive tasks and structured processes.
  • Takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and clean execution.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Clear written communication for internal updates.
  • Comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback.
  • Middle English level required.
