About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic Medical billing phone operator to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical background, proven experience in healthcare processes, and the ability to manage patient referrals with accuracy and efficiency. This role is critical to ensuring seamless appointment scheduling, proper documentation, and compliance with health insurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule medical appointments virtually and maintain accurate appointment statuses.
- Communicate with patients regarding scheduled appointments, updates, and confirmations.
- Obtain prior authorizations from health insurance companies.
- Process medical record requests promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure clear communication and smooth patient care processes.
- Utilize medical applications, specifically
IMS
, to manage scheduling and records.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mandatory:
Proficiency in
IMS medical application
. - Mandatory:
Minimum
1 year of experience in medical billing
. - Background in healthcare processes, terminology, and platforms.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in both
English and Spanish
. - Empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other healthcare-related software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in prior-authorization processes and health insurance coordination.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Previous experience in remote healthcare support roles.
