Requirements

Required Skills

• 5+ year experience as a SAP Basis administrator providing support and guidance to SAP Basis team or large contribution to several SAP Basis projects.
• 3+ years in a SAP production support environment or multiple full life cycle projects.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas is helpful: SAP PI Administration, GRC 10.1 support, SAP Enhancement Package implementation, VMWare or Nutanix platform experience, or Hana administration experience.
• SAP Certification on UNIX and LINUX platform a plus.
• Must be experienced with or knowledgeable on the latest SAP technologies such as ERP 6 or later, GTS, SCM with Live Cache and Optimizer, BW, Solution Manager 7, and Enterprise Portal.
• Knowledge in SAP Java capabilities, strong understanding of memory management in these environments.
• Strong time management skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience in system development and project management across a variety of technical platforms.
• Experience in defining and establishing business requirements and aligning IT initiatives with business priorities.
• Experience with SAP applications operating system administration (Unix and Windows).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, conceptual and performance tuning skills.
• Strong customer focus and management of client expectations.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication (written/documentation and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take on complex projects and assignments without detailed specifications and provide leadership direction to other SAP Basis personnel as appropriate.
• Comprehensive understanding of systems, applications, and/or networks so that practical solutions can be provided that factor system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and overall cost to develop and maintain.
• Experience in working in a SOX regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the delivery of key Technical projects which deliver best practices and optimization within the SAP environment.
• Serve as an integrator to the functional and business teams for technical services provided by the BASIS team, the client infrastructure provider and vendors / other service providers.
• Work closely with team leaders to understand current project and support priorities and provide support for day to day deliverables as prioritized and requested by management.
• Develop, maintain, and continually improve documentation for SAP Basis Policies and Procedures.
• Attend regular Change Control meetings to represent the SAP Basis team.
• Planning for SAP Installations, System Sizing (Capacity planning), Disk / Storage / Server Layout, and System Installation Plan.
• SAP Software Installation and Support: Installation of SAP Components based on SAP NW 7.xx, SAP Solution Manager 7.x, SAP Business Warehouse 7, SAP CRM 5.0, SAP SCM 7.1 (including APO), SAP ECC 6.0, SAP Enterprise Portals 7.x, GTS 11.0, and GRC 10.1.
• Post Installation Setup of SAP Components: Initial System Backup, Configure SAPs Transport Management System, Request / Set-up SAP Developer Keys, Setup SAPROUTER connection to SAP, Install support packages, Client Copy, Install OSS notes, Configure SAP Note Assistant, SAP DBA configuration, Tuning / Modification of SAP and instance parameter files, Configuration of the SAPLOGON entries for the newly installed system, and setup of printers.
• Daily System Monitoring: Execution of all System Administration Assistant activities and troubleshoot / resolve problems reported by project teams.
