Who we are

E3 – Ecology, Economy, and Ethics is a Colombian advisory firm established in 2009 that supports public and private entities in integrating ecological, economic, and ethical principles into their planning and business strategies.

E3 designs innovative sectoral and territorial projects that promote climate action, peacebuilding, and sustainable development. Through participatory processes, E3 encourages collaboration between private and public actors to build new economies that benefit people, societies, and the planet.

E3 manages the Food and Land Use Coalition in Colombia. The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) is a self-governed coalition of organisations and individuals working collaboratively to achieve a shared objective: the urgent transformation of food and land use systems to deliver a better future for people, nature, and climate. FOLU supports science-based solutions and helps to build a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities to unlock collective, ambitious action.

Our impact

15+ years of experience driving sustainable development and climate innovation in Colombia.

Host of the FOLU Colombia platform — part of a global coalition spanning 7 country platforms and 8 international partners, including WRI, SDSN, and GAIN.

Active contributor to global conversations on food systems transformation, climate action, and inclusive territorial development.

Engages with over 40 national and regional stakeholders across government, civil society, and the private sector.

Purpose of the Position

The Countries Action Team Coordinator for Latin America supports the coordination, alignment, and performance of the FOLU Brazil and Colombia platforms within the global FOLU framework.

This role bridges the country platforms with the Global Secretariat, ensuring smooth knowledge exchange, strategic alignment, and effective resource mobilization to amplify impact across Latin America.

Key Responsibilities

Support FOLU Country Portfolio (50%):

  • In your role in the Global secretariat, you will provide support to FOLU Country Directors in Brazil and Colombia to enable the successful delivery of planned activities
  • Develop familiarity with the Brazil and Colombia country platforms, understanding their contexts, partners and work programs. This will require regular contact with country teams and frequent travel (at least one visit to Brazil a year)

  • Support the FOLU Brazil and FOLU Colombia country platforms in project delivery and reporting.

  • In consultation with FOLU's Countries Director, provide regular structured feedback to country platforms on their performance, identifying risks and proposing mitigatory measures

Support Resource Mobilization (30%)

  • Support the country platforms to fundraise and mobilize resources by (1) reviewing and contributing to concept notes & proposals (2) working with the Global Secretariat's senior development manager to identify upcoming opportunities and to build donor relationships and (3) working to improve the strategic framing and development of new fundable ideas.
  • Support the country platforms to build long-term and deep relationships with existing donors that are mutually beneficial and sustainable.

  • Ensure countries are represented in global fundraising activities including the development of coalition-wide proposals and discussions with programmatic donors.

Bridge the global and country portfolios (20%):

  • Ensure that country platforms are kept informed about the activities and priorities of global teams and vice versa. This includes working with the Global Secretariat's Knowledge Generation, Communications Team, Impact and Partnerships Teams.

  • Participate in internal meetings and workshops to represent the country platforms where necessary – sharing their knowledge and advocating for their needs

  • Ensure that country platforms provide complete and succinct narrative and strategic reporting – both for FOLU and donor purposes

  • Promote lesson learning and dissemination by participating in FOLU's communities of practice and inputting into relevant Global Secretariat products

  • Working with other regional coordinators, lead the process for the design and organization of the annual FOLU learning event (previously called the Country Platform Council)

  • Supporting the development and implementation of activities aimed at influencing regional food-related policy in Africa.
