Purpose

We are looking for an iOS Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. This iOS app developer will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. IOS programming works closely with other app development and technical teams.

You will work as part of a team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches business requirements. You will be asked to take technical lead on various aspects of design, development and mentoring of resources while working with architects, developers, key business stakeholders, various technical support teams across the Bank, regulatory and compliance groups, and senior leadership.

The Senior iOS Developer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of native mobile applications for the iOS ecosystem, with special focus on SDUI (Server-Driven UI) based architectures. You will be expected to have solid experience with Swift and Objective-C, and understand how to use SDUI to optimize dynamic delivery of interfaces from the server, allowing for greater flexibility in deploying updates and functionality.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of iOS development experience, demonstrate proactivity, problem solving skills, and the ability to make technical decisions with autonomy. In addition, you must be familiar with agile methodologies, modern UI/UX practices, and design patterns such as MVVM and MVC. Your ability to lead development teams, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams will be an asset..

• Effective design, development, integration, testing and implementation of complex business requirements
• Applying technological knowledge to the design of models and/or systems, formulating detailed technical designs, investigating, and recommending technical solutions, developing, and delivering applications using agile development methodologies
• Technical Leadership, Cross Lab Coordination, Production Support and Release Implementation Support
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

Skill set for the role

• 3 or more years of iOS development with Swift 5+
• Deep knowledge of iOS design best practices and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. Willing and able to provide designers with constructive feedback
• Experience with TDD
• Experience with accessibility and analytics (Use of events to measure specific interactions or repetitions in an application. Example Firebase)
• Experience in integrating Third Party libraries and SDKs with Swift Package Manager
• Experience building applications that consume RESTful APIs
• Competent in software engineering and computer science principles, such as SOLID
• Comfortable working on a large-scale product as part of a large and complex enterprise, with both new technologies and building on top of legacy systems.
• Experience and expertise in all phases of the software development life cycle
• Very good understanding of current IT practices and software development methodologies such as Scrum and Agile
• SDUI

Working Conditions
