, leading renewable energy company, is seeking a
HSE Supervisor
to join the team. The HSE Officer O&M ensures that all site activities are carried out safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with environmental licenses, contractual requirements, and national regulatory standards. The role oversees the environmental, social, and safety performance of O&M contractors, monitors compliance with environmental obligations, safety standards, conducts audits and inspections, verifies the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and promotes a proactive culture of safety, environmental protection, and operational excellence across solar plants and substations.
Key job responsibilities:
- Monitor and verify contractor compliance with HSSE procedures, safe work practices, and national regulations during O&M and construction-related activities.
- Monitor and verify contractor compliance with environmental license obligations, environmental management plans, monitoring programs, and social management requirements applicable to solar plants and substations.
- Ensure adherence to all environmental, social, and sustainability commitments established under contractual obligations, regulatory authorities, and CTG standards.
- Conduct periodic environmental inspections and audits covering waste management, hazardous materials, spills, erosion control, flora and fauna protection, water-use obligations, noise monitoring, and soil conservation.
- Support and coordinate external inspections or audits conducted by environmental authorities, third parties, CTG Latam, CTGI.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and workplace audits to ensure safe working conditions and prevent incidents.
- Review and approve HSSE documentation such as risk assessments, work permits, JHAs, and emergency procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations and ensure the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a proactive culture of safety, environmental protection, and social responsibility through ongoing engagement, training, coaching, and field supervision.
- Support the continuous improvement of environmental and safety systems, ensuring alignment with CTG policies and international best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent (required).
- Master's degree in Environmental Management, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HSSE supervision, preferably within renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience supervising contractors and ensuring compliance
- Strong knowledge of environmental and social regulations (Mintrabajo, Environmental Authority, ARL, Minambiente, Mininterior)
- Experience in environmental impact analysis as environmental impact assessment and compliance report elaboration
- Knowledge in geographical information system, programs as ARCGIS, QGIS, etc
- Knowledge and experience in biotic compensations and follow-up biotic issues
- Experience in handling audits and inspections from authorities
- Safety compliance, ISO 45001, ISO 14001
- Ability to work independently, represent the client professionally, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in English and Spanish.
