About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer for a long-term engagement to build a new banking system from the ground up. This is a greenfield project focused on replacing an existing banking platform. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and develop features for a new banking platform built with Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate directly with the project manager and technical team to define requirements and solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
  • Ensure code quality through reviews and testing

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong technical communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively
  • English proficiency: B2+ level
  • Must be based in Bogotá, Colombia with availability to work on-site

Preferred Qualifications

The following skills are valued but not required for consideration:

  • Experience in Fintech or Banking domains

Compensation & Work Arrangement

  • Hourly rate: $25 USD/hour (40 hours per week)
  • Contract type: Long-term Independent Contractor
  • Work model: 100% On-site (Bogotá - Sector Chicó Norte, Calle 100)
  • Availability: 40 hours per week
