**About the position**

The Tax Preparer has the responsibility of helping clients by making sure the tax forms are accurate. Also, they have activities such as calculating tax returns and managing the connection between tax authorities and clients.

**Your main responsibilities**
- Prepare and e-file federal and state business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, etc.) in accordance with IRS and state regulations.
- Operate Tax Software to efficiently prepare, review, and submit tax filings.
- Monitor and adhere to filing deadlines for individuals, partnerships, LLCs, and corporations to ensure timely compliance.
- Stay up to date on tax laws, regulations, and IRS procedural updates that may affect client filings.
- Determine and calculate estimated quarterly tax payments for LLCs and corporations.
- Utilize the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) to process client payments securely and accurately.
- Verify and reconcile tax payments, maintain confirmation records, and update payment logs in Excel or other tracking tools.
- Communicate directly with the IRS and state agencies to resolve client tax issues, including notices, discrepancies, and audit inquiries.
- Maintain organized and confidential client records by scanning correspondence, storing files in Google Drive, and tracking open items through Pipefy or other workflow management systems.
- Manage client requests and cases through the internal ticketing system, ensuring prompt resolution and a high level of service.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to fulfill tax-related information requests.
- Contribute to and maintain the Tax Department Playbook, documenting standard operating procedures, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company data security policies and IRS confidentiality standards in all client interactions.

**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required**

Education and Experience:

- Proficient English and Portuguese;
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field;
- 2+ years of proven experience as a tax preparer or related roles, with a focus on business tax returns.

Skills and Abilities:

- **Knowledge of forms 5472, 1120, 1120-S, 1065;**:

- Knowledge of fiscal and tax regulations for non-residents;
- Understanding of sales tax concepts and principles;
- Accounting comprehension and attention to detail in data entry and performing complex calculations;
- Proficiency in using Excel for data manipulation, calculations and reporting;
- Analytical and critical thinking mindset for identifying and resolving sales tax discrepancies;
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, customers and tax authorities;
- Ability to work independently and as a team and to manage time efficiently.
