UX Product Designer and Researcher

**About the Role**:
We are seeking a passionate UX/Product Designer who has a research background to join our software and product team. You are a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive person capable of wearing multiple hats. You are excited about working on a completely new product from scratch (think - no legacy, complete freedom of the UX direction). You have, at least, 5 years of experience designing for complex platforms, and possess strong information architecture skills, as well as, interaction design skills in a collaborative, data-driven, and validated learning development environment. You are passionate to speak with and observe users (both internal and external), and able to glean usability insights from engagement and business analytics. You are skilled in conducting your own user tests and leveraging usability testing platforms in addition to creating test plans/scenarios and analyzing data in order to make insights and report to the team and leadership. You're used to working side by side with both the product and engineering teams, sparring and brainstorming solutions as partners.

**Responsibilities**:

- Crafting annotated design prototypes of varying fidelity for web, mobile, and responsive design, using programs
- Developing and annotating user flows, journeys, and personas
- Design, prototype, user-test, review and validate solutions to user stories
- Conduct user research, competitive research, and market assessments
- Partner with product and engineering peers to communicate with the broader team, align on approaches, and collaboratively solve user stories
- Be able to think through data flow and backend elements necessary to power front end elements
- Driving and owning CreateMe's research initiatives to support our full product suite
- Experience with all things research from planning and execution to distillation and reporting

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a UX/Product Designer
- An absolute passion for creating & designing solutions to problems from a user-centered approach
- A positive attitude with a willingness to collaborate & learn
- The drive & work ethic to strive for perfection & not let failure stop you
- A good sense of humor & empathy for others
- The ability to work with a multidisciplinary team (Sales, Technology, Leadership, etc.)
- A portfolio (online or in document form) that speaks to your experience & skills in UX/Product Design
- Strong communication skills & the ability to work well alone or on a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in building wireframes, flows, and prototypes
- Success in building data mapping diagrams for user experience
- Proven ability to establish oneself as an expert in UX in an organization
- Most importantly, preference for a data-driven design and validated learning mindset
- Ability to create detailed high-fidelity comps and associated specifications for engineering consumption
- Experience creating and/or contributing to design systems
- Experience using Figma, Zeplin, Sketch, and other UX tools
- Prior UX Research experience, such as usability testing and customer interviews

**Additional Skills/Abilities (Nice to Haves)**:

- Knowledge of ADA/Web Accessibility and its importance
- Experience with service design and process design
- Experience with kiosks and tablet app design
- Experience with micro animations
- Familiarity with the Agile project methodology
- A background and aptitude in graphic design
