Data Engineer

This position is 100% remote, based in Colombia and will report to the Data Engineer Lead.

**As a Data Engineer, you will...**
- Take our data pipelines to the next level by ensuring the continuity of the business and the correct delivery of value through information.
- Enable our data analysts and scientists to perform data exploration activities with autonomy.
- Be part of an amazing data engineering team focused on following best practices and code standards.
- Actively contribute on ways to improve our data platform (Legacy processes migration to a combination of Python, Airflow, DBT, Spark, and Snowflake based solutions).
- Work with other engineering teams such as: quality, information security, cloud, SRE, etc. to implement and enhance cloud data infrastructure to address data privacy and security.
- Automate and improve existing data processes for quicker turnaround and high productivity.

**Who You Are**
- 3+ years of experience in at least one general purpose programming language (Python,Java,R,Spark or Scala) and relational-non relational databases technologies such as MSSQL, CockroachDB, MySQL, Aurora,MongoDB, Oracle.
- 3+ years of experience working on Tier 1 Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure or GCP) and with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, RedShift, Big Query or Synapse).
- 3+ years of experience in building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- 1+ years of experience working with event streaming platforms such as: Kafka, Kinesis, EventHub, etc.
- Hands-on experience in data modeling and data profiling.
- Experience working on agile environments such as: Scrum, Kanban, Safe.
- Experience working with orchestration tools such as: Airflow, MWAA, Dagster, etc.
- Experience or familiarized with containerized and serverless deployments.
- Strong technical and observational skills to develop and validate models with broad datasets.
- Deep understanding about topics such as: CI-CD, DevOps, Repositories (GitLab, GitHub, etc), Pipelining.
- Fluent in Spanish and English required.
- An agile, flexible, and responsive approach to work.
- Enthusiastic, positive, friendly, and has a great sense of humor
