**Role**

Octus delivers cutting-edge data, analytics, and intelligence to over 30,000 professionals in the global credit markets. We're seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of 6-8 engineers building scalable, end-to-end software solutions that power our mission-critical products.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead Development & Delivery_- Team Management & Mentorship_- Mentor and manage one or more cross-functional development teams. Foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture through coaching, feedback, and development plans.
- Architect Scalable Systems_- Drive the design and development of enterprise-scale APIs and distributed systems, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
- Technical Leadership_- Promote software design best practices, including SOLID principles, modular architecture, and reusable code. Provide hands-on guidance and technical oversight as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration_- Partner with product, commercial, and business stakeholders to align engineering resources with strategic priorities. Participate in technical and business design reviews.
- Project Execution & Stakeholder Management_- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and timelines. Communicate progress and challenges effectively to senior stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence_- Ensure service reliability through rigorous testing, CI/CD practices, and security and architectural standards compliance. Establish and enforce development standards to maintain code quality.

**Qualifications**
- Leadership Experience_- 3+ years managing and mentoring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Expertise_- 10+ years of hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, C#, PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Vue.js, Angular, React, and Elasticsearch (or equivalents).
- Cloud & DevOps Proficiency_- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker), IaC (Terraform), and event streaming (Apache Kafka).
- Architectural & Design Acumen_- Strong grasp of design patterns, system architecture, and software engineering principles. Experience with Django and Laravel is a plus.
- Database Proficiency_- Skilled in data modeling and both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Tools & Processes_- Familiar with modern development toolchains, including GitHub, JIRA, and Confluence. Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
