**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
The Orinoquia Iconic Pace Lead is responsible for delivering Outcomes for People and Nature through systemic transformation in the Orinoquia Region in close partnership with the government entities from different levels and a wide array of partners and key stakeholders. The position will lead a comprehensive strategy aimed to avoid conversion of at-risk land and freshwater natural ecosystems in the Orinoquia Iconic Place by influencing policy (land and water use planning) and the agricultural sector (improving sustainable productive practices and market regulation. The Lead will also build strategies that conserve and value natural and cultural capitals providing inclusive, integrating low carbon development, halting conversion, deforestation and avoiding systemic tipping points that threaten the large-scale viability of the Orinoquia Iconic Place while integrating and aligning Conservation Strategies and support teams (Policy/Science/Marketing and Communications/ Finance for Conservation/Development). The Lead provides strategic leadership and support for the Conservancy’s conservation and science work in the landscape, in close coordination with national, regional and global conservation priorities and major initiatives. This position will report to the TNC Colombia Conservation Director.

**WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU**:

- The Orinoquia Iconic Place Lead serves as the leader and main contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations, private sector and the academic community in the Iconic Place, in accordance with the strategic alignment provided by the leadership of TNC Colombia.
- S/he will position TNC as a leader of system transformation in the landscape, by coordinating the work with the local, regional and global conservation strategies and teams, specifically Nature Based Solutions for Adaptation and Mitigation, Community Based Conservation, Integrated Management of Water, Sustainable Production Systems, Protect, Science, Policy, Marketing and Communications, Sustainable and Innovative Finance for Conservation and Development Teams. S/he will also be responsible for resourcing new competencies that may be required by building internal capacity, developing partnerships or contracting third parties.
- S/he will play a leading role in donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship for the program in the Orinoquia Iconic Place.
- S/he will ensure effective collaboration with different stakeholders’ platforms including the private sector, central and local government, civil society organizations and local communities.
- S/he will engage local stakeholder to support local conservation efforts, negotiate complex and innovative solutions with government agencies and landowners to conserve and protect nature in balance with social, cultural, and economic development needs, and develop and implement conservation strategies.
- S/he will coordinate the Conservancy efforts as a major conservation partner in Orinoquia Iconic Place, lead and manage team(s) which supports and improves conservation efforts, and builds strategic, scientific, technical, and public policy and systems change capacity in the field.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE**

- Aligns and coordinates with conservation leads and support teams, the planning implementation and following up of the Outcomes of this Iconic Place to deliver effective impact, incorporating and contributing to globally important approaches, balancing the needs of nature and people
- Ensures the optimal management of financial resources, from budgeting and fundraising to execution, with support of finance and operations teams, and is efficiently described, reported on, and adaptively managed internally through the shared conservation agenda Hub and related processes including the definition, monitoring, and evaluation of m
