**About this position**:
This position is based out of our office in Bogotá, Colombia, located in the Financial Center. You will work **i**n conjunction with our talented team of Developers, Data Scientists and Customer Success Managers, based in France (Paris), passionate about their work and like to have fun in the process.

**Your mission**:
Implio is our all-in-one SaaS moderation platform which combines state-of-the-art AI (deep learning, NLP, computer vision) with a powerful user interface for human moderation and statistics.

As a member of the Implio development team, you will help us grow our platform. You will work on a variety of day-to-day tasks:

- Develop scalable and elegant micro services
- Rewrite existing services in Scala
- Deliver improvements to our platform, for additional features, scalability and maintainability
- Turn the slightly crazy concepts our data science team comes up with into working, scalable solutions
- Improve your practical and theoretical skills, and share that new knowledge with the rest of the team
- Work in a distributed team and help us address the challenges and opportunities this creates

You will be working in close collaboration with stakeholders: Front-end Developers, Back-end Developers, DevOps, Data Scientists and Product Owner, to come up with the very best solutions.

**Preferred experience**:
You will be a good fit if you have 5+ years of experience as back-end developer and if you are:

- Proficient in Scala
- Knowledgeable about algorithms and data structures
- Passionate about solving problems in an elegant and principled manner
- Experienced with Git and continuous integration
- Familiar with Agile and Scrum
- Enthusiast about team work, learning and teaching
- Detail-oriented, outgoing and a good communicator
- Fluent in English

**Extra points** if you have experience with:

- Node.js and Java, as you may need to analyze code from existing services written in these languages
- Building or interacting with REST APIs
