Msl - Oncology

**Main responsibilities / job expectations**
- The MSL is expected to comply with all Ipsen SOPs, policies, directive, and relevant national guidelines.
- Achieve the communication of medical and educational objectives set for the assigned

products/indications, within the framework of IPSEN’s national strategy. (Communication plan)
- Develop, maintain, and support professional relationships with internal and external customers (e.g.,

Key Thought Leaders [KTL], Health Care Professionals [HCPs], and Formulary Decision Makers).
- Facilitate informational, educational, and research activities for physicians and ancillary healthcare

professionals regarding IPSEN’s current and pipeline therapies.
- Ensure that the scientific and technical needs of Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and commercial

colleagues are identified and met working closely with other IPSEN personnel-.
- Document, accurately and in a timely manner, the aforementioned activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific information (by performing literature searches,

participation in medical congresses and conferences of relevance to Ipsen’s disease and therapeutic

area interests).
- Disseminate this knowledge as appropriate to HCPs in response to requests, in accordance with

applicable laws.
- Proactively provide fair, balanced, and transparent medical and scientific exchange in disease area

management.
- Current and potential sources of clinical and scientific expertise (known experts, rising stars etc.)
- Current and potential principal investigators, speakers
- Informational needs of individual KTLs/HCPs
- Need for scientific information in disease area and therapy of individual KTLs/HCPs
- Identification and initiation of opportunities to fulfill these.
- Identify and invite KTL and appropriately qualified HCPs participation in Advisory Boards
- Identify opportunities to inform KTLs and HCPs in disease areas of interest to Ipsen.
- Organize and participate in the distribution and presentation of non-promotional materials.
- Provide scientific and medical content for, and participate in, the preparation and delivery of

presentations by KTLs and HCPs speaking on behalf of Ipsen in educational programs and at other

meetings.
- Support the internal medical review and facilitate the processing of unsolicited RWE projects.
- Comply with MSL metrics established for the therapeutic area, and report timely his/her interactions on

defined tools.
- Plan and participate in medical educational events owned by Ipsen or by third parties.
- Present regularly his/her insights and action plan for his/her territory.

**Knowledge, abilities & experience required**

Education / Certifications:

- Biomedical, Scientific University education ideally to post-graduate degree level -e.g., MSc, PhD, MD,

PharmD
- Medical Practice or Research career (hospital and/or hospital-related, university research,

pharmaceutical industry research, or medical affairs)

**Experience**:

- Proven experience and successful track record as an MSL or medical department professional in a

previous company, ideally in Oncology, Rare Diseases, or Hematology
- Working in a matrix organization and interfacing with the lead/management team.
- Ability to work with high workload and time pressure.
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literacy skills
- Broad pharmaceutical business knowledge
- Proven experience and leadership within Quality operations of multi-national biopharmaceutical settings

Languages:

- Fluent in Spanish and English.
