By increasing consumers' purchasing power, Sezzle drives sales and basket sizes for thousands of eCommerce merchants that it partners with. **About the Role**: As a Legal Support Associate in our legal department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of liens related to our company's legal obligations. You will work closely with legal professionals and other team members to manage the lien process from start to finish, contributing to the legal compliance and financial stability of the organization. We are seeking a talented and motivated Legal Support Associate who is best in class with a high IQ plus a high EQ. This role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing team, with abundant prospects for career advancement. **What You'll Do**: - Support the US Legal Team with support requests - **Review and Analyze Liens**: Review incoming liens to assess their validity, accuracy, and compliance with legal requirements. - **Coordinate with Legal and Operations Teams**:Collaborate with in-house or external counsels / attorneys, paralegals, and operations staff to gather necessary documentation and information for lien processing. - **Prepare and File Liens**: Draft and prepare lien documents accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to legal guidelines and deadlines. - **Maintain Lien Database**:Update and maintain electronic and paper records of all liens, including filing and organizing documentation for easy retrieval. - **Communicate with Stakeholders**: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, vendors, and legal representatives, to resolve issues and ensure timely lien processing. - **Track Lien Status**: Monitor the status of filed liens, proactively follow up on outstanding items, and provide regular updates to relevant parties. - **Assist with Compliance Audits**: Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and information related to lien processing activities. - **Stay Informed on US Legal Requirements**: Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to lien processing and adjust procedures accordingly. **What We Look For**: - **Legal Knowledge**: - Work experience as a Remote Paralegal or Remote Legal Assistant to US (Law) Firms; accumulated an understanding of US legal concepts and procedures. - Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred or demonstrated experience. - **Preferred**: Understanding of Section 9 of the US Uniform Commercial Code ("UCC") and/or secured transactions. - **Attention to Detail**: Ability to meticulously review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and compliance. - **Organizational Skills**:Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively. - **Communication Skills**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders. - **Team Player**:Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to departmental goals. - **Problem-Solving Skills**: Capacity to identify issues, propose solutions, and make decisions independently when necessary. - **Adaptability**: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and procedures in a dynamic work environment. - **Confidentiality**:Understanding of the sensitive nature of legal information and commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. - **Computer Proficiency**: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with legal software or databases preferred. **About You**: - **You have relentlessly high standards** - many people may think your standards are unreasonably high.
