**Architectural Design Director**

The architecture business operates from its bases in the Ireland utilizing the skills and resources from our global specialists for the delivery and design of projects throughout the world.
Torero Global Corp has extensive knowledge and worldwide experience in a variety of sectors such as, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Education, Master planning, Mixed use, Residential, Biomedical, Leisure, Commercial, Retail & Industrial. The projects you will be working on will prominently be in the following markets Europe and Middle East. Past experience in design in these markets will be favored. You will be working with our existing architectural teams in Ireland and in Mexico to design and deliver cutting edge architectural projects.
We are looking for a design director who is able to quickly interpret business needs and client briefs and turn them into compelling creative solutions. Often working under tight deadlines while overseeing multiple projects, the design director must be a skilled manager of creative architectural teams (including but not limited to: art directors, copywriters, content strategists, graphic artists, CGI Artists, and designers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Distill abstract business concepts and client needs into elegant creative solutions.
- Take responsibility for the creative vision and the standard of output across team members who work under them.
- Pitch ideas confidently and present the creative vision clearly to clients, as well as communicate in the same manner to members of the creative team.
- Have strong people management and leadership skills in order developing, and inspire the creative architecture teams.
- Ensure that all of the organization’s or client’s creative output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand.
- Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies and how they can be applied to the company.
- Evangelize the technical architecture within the organization and build buy-in from all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that the architecture is being followed and that best practices are being used.
- Help the architectural team troubleshoot issues and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor the performance of the architecture and make changes as needed.
- Design innovative award winning architectural projects in the following markets Mexico, Ireland, UK, and Middle East.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- 10+ years professional experience in architecture, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Registered architect in good standing with the AIA, RIBA or equivalent.
- Demonstrated success in project management from concept to completion internationally.
- Thorough knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods in US or UK or Ireland.
- Excellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ, Lumion or similar software.
- Fluent English speaker. This is critical requirement.
- Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
- Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
- Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and determine a plan that will ensure they are met or exceeded.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
- Extensive supervisory experience (including leadership, team-building, and delegation) leading and managing a creative team.
- Control project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design.
- Take the “brief” to identify clients’ needs and put together feasibility reports and design proposals.
- Develop ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building’s usage and environmental impact.
- Produce detailed blueprints
