Research Scientist - At Biological Efficacy Assessment (BEA) (Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia)
Job Summary
Develop and manage research trials in Greenhouse or in the Open Field for the evaluation of the efficacy, crop tolerance and residues of the Crop Protection and Nutritional products of the Company, organizing the implementation of the experimental trials according to the Company trial planning and providing a source of expertise and advice for the interpretation and communication of the scientific data.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Organize and implement experimental efficacy trials in laboratory, greenhouse and in open field according to agreed study protocols issued by the Sponsor or Project leader and in line with internal resources and the yearly trial planning
- Give recommendation for the good planning and implementation of the study protocol cooperating

with the Sponsor or Research Manager
- Ensure the correct execution of the GH trials, according to standard and official methodology, and of the field trials, according to GEP and GLP guidelines, from the understanding of trial objectives to the reporting of all related activities, including:

- Ensure availability of relevant materials to carry out the trial (plants, pots, leaf disks, sample weight, spray solution)
- Contribute to find suitable site for trial location
- Ensure maintenance and validity of the running trials
- Preparation of the experimental products and spray solution
- Evaluation of the product performance and analysis of the data
- Drafting of the final report under supervision of the Research Manager
- Take care of breeding or rearing of the living organisms in the research center collection
- To use and maintain comprehensive database for archiving and sharing the produced information within the technical organization of the Company
- To maintain and develop a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of research techniques
- To participate to project meetings when needed
- To develop and maintain contacts with extension services and Research Institutes
- To ensure correct and timely maintenance of the equipment and facilities, following all safety measures for the conducting of the Greenhouse and field trial work
- To comply with local regulations for the execution of registration and residue trials (trial notification and yield destruction) inside the Testing Facility (Centro di Saggio)
- To organize field trial visits for own trials in collaboration with the Sponsor or Research Manager
- To give technical support to marketing and commercial functions when needed in agreement with the priorities decided from headquarter

**Required education, knowledge**:

- A background education (high school or bachelor degree) in agriculture or biology science
- Several years’ experience in Greenhouse and Open Field research trials for Crop Protection
- Good knowledge of oral and written English
- Good knowledge of IT tools, Office environment, ARM, etc..

Job Expectations/Working Conditions
- Ability to work in unfavorable environmental conditions and sometimes far from home for short periods, versatility and hand-on skills
- Ability to carefully handle live microscopic organisms
- Ability to stay at microscope or in front of computer for long periods of time
