Financial Controller

As Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are now looking for a new Financial Controller with a passion for process automation and innovation. In this role, you will be an important factor into further growing our business, driving automation and making sure we meet all our regulatory requirements. You will own and control core financial reporting deliverables together with the rest of the team. Will you join us in our quest to create a healthier and happier world?

Although you will be working for our Colombian office, we are a remote-friendly company This means you can work from home within Colombia whenever you want. You can also join your colleagues in our Medellin office. It is completely up to you

**What this role looks like**

As Financial Controller, you will be joining a team with enthusiastic professionals. You will work closely with our Finance Manager, Financial Controller and Global Head of Operations.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial mind with a go-getter mentality, who can thrive in a dynamic scale up environment. This role provides ample room for growth in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

**Your key responsibilities as Financial Controller**
- Manage the monthly closing process and continuously improve this process together with the Financial Controller and financial operations team;
- Initiate and own improvement and automation projects, for instance, managing the reporting within the newly implemented ERP system (Netsuite);
- Annual closing work & reporting (together with Financial Controller);
- Support and ultimately own the financial data running through our systems;
- Together with the team you guard the integrity and relevance of reported figures;
- Identify key drivers as well as risks and improve reporting accordingly;
- Work together with the Finance manager to achieve the key objectives of the finance department.
- Being responsible for and/ or support VAT/ ICP (tax) work;
- Understand the intricacies of Revenue control and support the business in standardising reporting on this.

**What you will bring to the Finance team**

- Are a result oriented, proactive, inquisitive personality with a hands-on, pragmatic and collaborative work mentality;
- Are curious to have deep understanding of the business and its drivers, whilst also understanding how the financial statements reflect the business;
- Understand what it takes to work in a fast growing & dynamic (non-corporate) organisation;
- Have an analytic approach and are not afraid to dive into systems and the nitty gritty details;
- Can manage expectations and deliver on them.

Work experience:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field;
- Proven experience in financial control, accounting or related roles;
- Proven track record in driving process improvements and automation initiatives;
- Ability to operate and succeed within a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with management and cross-functional teams;
- Proficient in English;
- Experience with ERP systems - experience with our systems is a big advantage (Netsuite, Salesforce, Stripe).
