**About this position**
This is a locally engaged position at an overseas Australian Diplomatic Mission.
Working under direction, the Communications Officer assists with the implementation of the Embassy’s communications strategy and for the day-to-day operations of the Embassy’s media relationships and social media accounts. The position manages the Embassy’s website and social media output. The position will work closely with the Public Diplomacy Officer to assist in developing a whole of Government strategy to promote the profile of Australia and the Australian Embassy in Colombia. The position will be back up for the Head of Mission Personal Assistant and Public Diplomacy Officer, whose duties include events management, alumni, and cultural and sporting exchange, and the Political and Economic Research Officer, whose duties include research, analysis and reporting.
