**About Unosquare**

**Summary**
We are looking for an experienced **Senior Data Engineer** fluent in **T-SQL and Azure Synapse**. You will design and build data pipelines, author Synapse notebooks, and make pragmatic technology trade-offs between lake-based and SQL database architectures.

This role requires a strong foundation in **data analytics** and an operational understanding of **machine learning concepts** such as base models, time series forecasting, and generative models. Excellent task ownership and communication are essential.

**Required Skills**:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with **T-SQL**.
- Extensive experience with **Azure Synapse**, including Pipelines and Notebooks.
- Ability to evaluate technology trade-offs and recommend when to use lake vs. SQL databases.
- Production coding experience in **Scala** or **Python**.
- Knowledge of machine learning landscape: base models, time series methods, and generative models.
- Strong **data analytics skills**, including trend analysis and extracting insights from time series data.
- Excellent **task scoping and communication** skills.
- Source control experience with **Git**, branching, and code review practices.

**Preferred Skills**
- Production pipelines for **time series forecasting** and related metrics.
- Implementation or integration of **generative models** or Copilot-style assistants.
- Designing **lakehouse or Delta architectures** and hybrid lake + SQL solutions.
- Familiarity with **Azure Synapse dedicated SQL pools** and **Serverless SQL pools**.
- Experience with **CI/CD** for data pipelines and model deployment.
- Previous work in **cross-functional teams** with data scientists and product owners.
