**Reports To**: Sr Payroll Specialist, Payroll Services
Ensures the accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, provides timely and accurate financial information, participates in employee’s payroll support and daily data entry payroll processing in Colombia. Performs analytical functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, taxes, and corporate policy. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization.
**Essential duties and responsibilities**:
- Key responsibility for Colombia payroll
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll inputs for employees are captured and aggregated for processing pay for Colombia
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits in Colombia
- Understanding of correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Analyze time and attendance report and balances
- Process AFC payment checks on local banks
- Upload import files received from HR, Compensation, and external vendors
- Research employee questions and provide proper direction
- Participate in problem solving meeting with our payroll vendor and with HR business partners
- Provide direction to the HR team regarding payroll best practices in Colombia
**Education and Experience**:
- Accounting, Business Administration, Finance
- 1+ years’ experience in Payroll Processing/administration/accounting
- 1+ years’ experience supporting payroll/HR related systems
- Knowledge of Colombia payroll legislation i.e., Vacation, OT, & Sick Pay rules
- This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to document detailed information and analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents clearly and concisely. The ability to respond effectively to clients, vendors employees and management and to handle sensitive and/or confidential communications is also required.
**Skills**:
- Primary communication in Spanish, English desirable.
- Intermediate Excel/Outlook proficiency
- Strong initiative, decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Team player who is willing to step in and assist others if needed
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge on Payroll best practices
- In person office work
