Concrete Lab Technician

Lab Technician
The position is responsible for laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid or liquid materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities and duties
- Carries out the daily testing of concrete specimens to the relevant Maltese and International Standards to high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency within agreed timescales.
- write reports and provide feedback to Management.
- resolving problems - especially with soil and aggregate samples, and special concrete mix designs.
- Examines and prepares concrete and aggregate samples for testing.
- Calculates and checks the test results and assists in the preparation of the report. Reviews final test reports as directed by protocol.
- Management of test equipment in his department Carries out sampling and testing on site.
- Keeping accurate and legible records of all works undertaken.
- Ensuring that test equipment used is checked, cleaned and maintained.
- Processing test specimens through the laboratory and ensuring all samples are marked and stored correctly.
- Assisting with laboratory maintenance and general housekeeping.

**Requirements**:

- Good knowledge of concrete testing, durability tests, aggregates (specific gravity, absorption, moisture, sieve analysis.), and lab equipment.
- Good knowledge in writing reports proficiency in written and verbal in Maltese and English.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the same field.
- Aptitude for basic math concepts and report preparation.
