Supporting all areas of the company and assessing financial implications from various key strategic decisions and growth opportunities — this is what our financial people do all day long. We're looking for a Head of Accounting to join our team in Colombia. You'll manage the general ledger, implement robust financial controls, and develop scalable accounting automations. If you have a solid track record in audit or financial control, possess a genuine interest in accounting automation, and want the opportunity to push the limit of what you're capable of, then let's get in touch. **What you'll be doing** - Managing finances and overseeing financial control in Colombia - Owning the general ledger and building an objective understanding of transactions - Looking for synergies and automation opportunities within Accounting and the wider Finance department - Coordinating the accounting and month-end closing process - Ensuring accurate and timely closing of the books for monthly and annual reporting - Preparing analysis on movements in key general ledger accounts - Managing the accounting policy, ensuring that it's up to date and latest changes in IFRS and group policies are implemented - Participating in annual and interim audits - Contributing to and defining consolidation, financial control processes, and procedures - Preparing/reviewing management and statutory reporting **What you'll need** - 15+ years of experience in finance functions, preferably within a banking or financial services environment - To be a Chartered Accountant - Impressive accounting knowledge - Excellent attention to detail with the ability to unravel complex accounting queries - The ability to comprehend and narrate financial records to external stakeholders - To have a positive attitude with a "can do" approach and willingness to give everything a go, from manual processing to larger projects - To be a self-motivated individual with initiative and ambition - Exceptional time management and organisation skills to plan, organise, and manage work effectively and within tight timeframes - High proficiency with NetSuite ERP **_ We won't ask for payment or personal financial information during the hiring process._**_ If anyone does ask you for this, it’s a scam.
