**Senior Backend Developer (Java)**

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior Backend Developer with exceptional web services and other backend development skills to work as a member of an Agile team responsible for building and maintaining our client's software as a service solution. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm, and determination.

**Responsibilities**
- Design and implement event-driven data solutions to accomplish the integration, ingestion, and processing of data from diverse data sources.
- Build and refine automation and orchestration of data tasks.
- Develop data pipeline services in a data mesh platform composed of traditional databases and data warehouses with event-driven microservices.
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated deployment and automated testing.
- Execute full lifecycle software development in an agile environment.
- Provide mentorship for more junior software engineers.
- Responsible for code reviews, testing, and delivery of high-quality maintainable code.
- Proficient English and communications skills required.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

**Technical Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Java.
- Strong experience with event-driven, microservice architectures.
- Experience with API frameworks (Spring Boot, Express.js)
- Strong experience with distributed messaging and streaming technologies (Preferably Kafka)
- Strong experience with relational databases and data warehouse solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake.
- Experience designing and supporting high traffic, highly available systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively explain concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience deploying software to a cloud platform environment. AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Understanding of modern Devops concepts such Docker, Kubernetes.
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
