**Position: Data Architect**

**Location: Bogota, Colombia (On site)**

**Reports To: Vice President - Information Technology**

Biotech Company STgenetics® has operations in 20 countries and currently more than 1,500 committed people around the world are responsible for its steady growth rate.

STgenetics® is seeking a Data Architect, fluent in English, for its expanding global operations with headquarters in Navasota, Texas.

The Data Architect will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise Data Architecture Program for STgenetics®’ worldwide operations. The main responsibilities include mapping and understanding the company’s wide array of data assets, their purposes, owners, and to develop a comprehensive Data Strategy that supports the overall vision of the organization. The Architect will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage organization’s key data assets, support business continuity, and secure said assets. This position reports to the Vice President, Information Technology.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and implement best practices for designing, developing, and maintaining data models.
- Develop the data architectures that includes the depiction of business data as such, including the collection, storage, integration, movement, and distribution of data.
- Develop and maintain a master data management (MDM) roadmap.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of Master Data Management Hubs, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Marts and Semantic Layers.
- Develop data architecture strategies and standards ensuring data is accessible to stakeholders and aligning data architecture with business goals.
- Evaluate technology, performance, scalability, interoperability, quality, reliability, integrity, availability and serviceability in databases and data repositories.
- Lead the development and implementation of effective data governance.
- Interface with business stakeholders to satisfy their data needs that conform to enterprise data management strategy.
- Design, build and implement new data models and databases in production.
- Ability to communicate evolving technology and architectural strategies and standards to audiences with varying technical knowledge.
- Define and implement data backup, archiving, disaster recovery strategy and business continuity strategies.
- Maintain the highest security standards across the entire data ecosystem.
- Maintain an enterprise repository of all data architectures, data models, artifacts, and procedures.

The Data Architect possesses outstanding communication skills and is responsive and effective in communicating data strategy and tactical plans. This position works collaboratively with leaders throught the organization in setting the Data Strategy agenda for the organization.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with degree preferred in Computer Science or information technology systems security or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- An advanced degree in Data Science or other related field is considered an asset.
- Strong Emotional Intelligence with demonstrated sustained leadership in a large organization involving multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated management skills, e.g., budget development and administration, policy development and implementation, personnel administration, staff training and development.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse people.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English.

**Experience**
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in data architecture, data science or similar related field.
