**ROLE SUMMARY**:
The British International School, founded in 1981, is a private co-educational school providing an excellent, high quality bilingual curriculum in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary, as well as an optimal learning environment. From day one, all students become members of one of four houses: Wellington, Darwin, Shakespeare and Churchill.- As part of our teaching team, we are looking an outstanding and dynamic Lab Technician to be in post ready for 5th August 2025.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepare and set up practical equipment, materials, and chemicals for lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised laboratory environment in line with current health and safety regulations.
- Manage the storage and disposal of chemicals, biological specimens, and hazardous materials appropriately.
- Monitor stock levels, place timely orders for laboratory supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Assist in the development and testing of new experiments and teaching resources.
- Contribute to risk assessments and support the Head of Science in quality assurance practices.
- Collaborate with science teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery and continuous improvement in practical provision.
- Develop and implement initiatives to foster students' interest in science by focusing on chemistry especially, promoting research and exploration skills.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as practice labs to develop knowledge.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:

- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related careers
- A strong working knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory procedures.
- Software management (Word, Excel, Power Point, Google)
- Level B2 English Language
- A strong working knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting young learners.
- A clear understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child protection in schools.
- Knowledge of the IB programmes is desirable.
