In 2021-22 we reached 650 million people. **Role Purpose**: - To maintain and enhance professional development and academic quality in the teaching center, through the management of in-house teacher development programme and support- - To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English- - To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience- - To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission**Accountabilities**: **Teaching**- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning- - Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout their learning, and actively promote learner autonomy and progress- - Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain British Council’s position at the forefront of best ELT practices.**Teaching Centre Activities**- Support teaching centre’s activities and British Council plans- - Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards and uphold professional responsibilities and values. Ensure British Council’s values and behaviours are reflected in their work**Customers & Stakeholders**- Maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues- - Attend staff meetings and otherwise contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team**Equality, Diversity and Inclusion**- Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is taken into account when planning and delivering lessons and engaging with customers and colleagues**Qualification** **Essentials**- Undergraduate degree- - Cambridge CELTA and or Trinity certificate TESOL (global minimum standard)**Desirables**- Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA and or Trinity Diploma- - TYLEC- **Work Experience** **Essentials**- A minimum of 2 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL experience gained from teaching a variety of age groups and levels from young learners through to adults.- - You should have experience in teaching two or more of the following age groups:- Very young learners
