Our K-12 team works with clients to solve a wide variety of technology challenges. Using both industry standard and cutting-edge technologies our consultants develop innovative, custom solutions that extend, enhance, and integrate Blackboard’s enterprise products. Our Technical Consultants work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and interface directly with clients daily, often on multiple concurrent engagements.
As a Technical Consultant, you will work directly with our clients to identify, define, and implement complex system deployments and integrations within the Blackboard Community Engagement suite of products, including student information systems data integrations, product extension implementations, installations, upgrades, and high-availability architecture design and implementation.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Integration Responsibilities:_
- Overall ownership, leadership, and management of the integration area of practice
- Documenting existing business processes and data flows
- Translating business requirements for complex integration and implementation Blackboard technologies into implementation alternatives and provide approach recommendations
Designing, setting up and configuring systems integration solutions including third-party authentication, inbound and outbound integrations, based on business requirements and technical specifications
- Researching and troubleshooting issues, providing technical support to client team as needed
- Conducting structured technical mentoring, training, and workshops; providing targeted knowledge transfer as needed
- Deployment_ _Responsibilities:_
- Overall ownership, leadership, and management of the deployment area of practice
- Implementing product extensions, such as authentication, accessibility, reporting, etc.
Assisting in technical implementation planning in close collaboration with other project team members
Researching and troubleshooting issues, providing technical support to client team as needed
- General Responsibilities:_
- Coaching and mentoring junior and senior consultants
- Strategic leadership, development, and maintenance of body of knowledge in area of practice
- This role requires approximately 10% travel
- Required skills/qualifications:_
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a client-facing capacity
- Minimum of 7 years of Consulting experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience integrating, configuring, and troubleshooting SaaS systems
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with SQL, ETL, and database design
- Minimum of 7 years of proven technical leadership and demonstrable value-added results within the applicable technical area of expertise
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Informatica or similar iPaaS tool
- Previous experience in the education or knowledge management industry and e-learning technologies, including at least one year specifically with Blackboard technologies
- Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX basic administration
- Working knowledge of the Python programming and various scripting languages
- Working knowledge of various protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, and REST
- Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical, and consulting skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent work ethic and drive, great interpersonal skills, team oriented, and demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed virtual teams and to build relationships with internal and external organizations
- Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills, and ability to manage expectations effectively when handling multiple assignments simultaneously with competing deadlines
- Proven ability to learn new technologies as needed
- Demonstrated problem-solving and mentoring skills
- Flexible work schedule to meet client needs
- Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
