DevOps Director

We are seeking an experienced Director of DevOps to lead our DevOps initiatives and database management efforts. With a focus on scalability, performance, and security, you will drive operational excellence and lead a talented team to deliver robust infrastructure solutions. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to optimize our systems and align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and mentor a DevOps team and Agency, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
2. Develop and execute DevOps strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
3. Administer, optimize, and secure SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on AWS.
4. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment.
5. Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance database and system performance.
6. Implement and enforce database backup, recovery, rollback, and indexing strategies.
7. Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors using scripts and tools.
8. Collaborate with development teams to manage database and infrastructure changes.
9. Oversee smooth deployment and release processes for databases and applications.
10. Establish and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for DevOps and database management.
11. Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement long-term solutions.

Requirements:

1. 10+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure management, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles, demonstrating strong people management and team development capabilities.
2. Experience managing outsourcing agencies and services.
3. Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams to successfully deliver cloud-based infrastructure solutions and implement best practices.
4. Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong understanding of cloud architecture, deployment, and optimization.
5. Solid experience with VMC (VMware Cloud), ideally having led migration projects or cloud infrastructure initiatives on VMware-based platforms.
6. Expertise in SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on AWS, with a focus on performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
7. Strong leadership in guiding teams through CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD, and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
8. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and process improvement.
9. Experience in developing and executing strategies for cloud migration, scaling, and infrastructure optimization.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and inspire teams, while managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
11. Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or related DevOps tools are preferred.
12. Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or insurance is a plus.
