And if that’s you we would love to have you join us Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Senior Engineer – Systems Technical Support position is to remotely provide support for server and storage equipment located at customer sites. You will work in the server environment. The role requires self‑initiative, ownership, the desire to follow issues to resolution, commercial sensitivity, responsiveness, collaboration, and technical expertise. You will report to the Supervisor Managed Services. Main location: Bogota, Colombia. We can consider other cities. Essential Functions Focus on remote managed services for data centers located in manufacturing facilities; bridge the industrial and information technology paradigms. Support modifying and maintaining Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory and Directory Services, and performance monitoring techniques on server software and hardware. Support many VMware products such as vCenter, ESXi versions 6.x+, HorizonView, vSAN and manage these environments in production. Provide troubleshooting assistance remotely by telephone and email on products for Rockwell Automation field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers. Work with other engineers, manage and deal with high‑pressure situations. Investigate and verify reported product problems in software, firmware, hardware and documentation; document the problem, work with appropriate group to resolve it, and follow up with the representative or customer when solved. Provide documentation of all actions taken; set expectations with customers and follow up on action items or activities needed to resolve problems. Update and author Technical Notes and other documentation to inform personnel of solutions, workarounds, installation practices that improve customer satisfaction. Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, computer programming, or similar. English 80 % proficiency. Proficient in Portuguese (advantageous). Preferred Requirements VMWare Certified Professional (VCP). 3 years’ experience as a VMware engineer. Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN/vSAN architectures. Knowledge of fundamentals of VMware solutions and related technologies. Programming languages for cloud platforms: Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell. Exceptional analytical and technical skills. Availability to resolve urgent VMware environment problems outside of business hours. Familiarity with network and SAN switching technologies. Good English reading, writing and verbal communication skills. Strict adherence to company standards and procedures. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
