Senior Process Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a skilled Agile Business Process Engineer and Atlassian Expert to drive the optimization and standardization of our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes across the enterprise. This role is responsible for engineering and documenting standardized processes across all planning and execution layers, and providing technical expertise and governance for the Atlassian ecosystem (primarily Jira Align). A key focus will be improving process efficiency, standardizing data quality for effective reporting, and optimizing the flow of work from strategy to delivery in the migration from legacy tools (Craft/eFocus), optimizing the Program Increment (PI) cadence and governance. Key Responsibilities Process Engineering: Function as a Process Engineer to establish, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the SDLC across all planning layers (Team, Program, Portfolio, Enterprise). Lead workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze current-state SDLC processes, identify friction points, and design optimized future-state workflows. Atlassian Platform Administration: Serve as the primary technical administrator for the Jira Align, and assorted Atlassian suite tools to manage schemes, custom fields, workflows, user access, roles, permissions, and system health. Integration Management: Manage and monitor integrations between various SDLC tools, ensuring seamless and accurate real‑time data flow within the Atlassian ecosystem. Data Quality Governance: Implement measures and audits to ensure data quality and consistency across Jira projects, critical for executive reporting and decision‑making. Reporting and Dashboards: Develop and maintain Portfolio/Program‑level reports, roadmaps, and dashboards within Atlassian to provide transparent views of investment, progress, and value delivery. Training and Support: Develop training materials and provide expert support to stakeholders on process definition and optimal tool usage. SDLC Tool Migration Support (Optional): Support the planning and execution of data migration strategies from existing planning tools into the standardized Atlassian environment, ensuring data fidelity and business continuity. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Agile/SDLC Business Process Improvement , Agile Coaching, Release Train Engineering, or Atlassian Platform Administration, with a strong track record of driving change and standardization. Expert‑level knowledge of Atlassian tools, value‑add applications, and capabilities for team, program, and portfolio configuration. Proven, hands‑on experience performing process stand‑up activities and data modeling/cleanup for large‑scale enterprise use of Jira Software and Confluence. Strong practical experience with common scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) and practical application of these frameworks in the Atlassian toolset. Track record of defining and implementing data governance and data quality standards for SDLC planning and reporting. Demonstrated experience managing and administering complex Jira workflows, schemes, and automation (e.g., ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira). Skills and Competencies In-depth technical understanding of the Jira Software data model (Projects, Issues, Fields, Schemes, Workflows). Strong process engineering skills with the ability to analyze current state, design future state SDLC processes, and document them clearly. Expert proficiency in using Jira Query Language (JQL) and understanding the dependencies between various Jira/Confluence objects. Comprehensive knowledge of Agile metrics (e.g., throughput, lead time, cycle time) and how to visualize them effectively in dashboards for executive consumption. Exceptional analytical and data auditing skills to identify and resolve data quality issues that impact predictability. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills for leading process definition workshops and conducting training sessions. Proven ability to operate in a dual capacity as both a technical administrator and a consultative process expert. Nice‑to‑Have: Knowledge of and hands‑on experience with Jira Align is considered a significant advantage.
