Financial Institutions – Credit Risk Jr. Analyst Citi – Bogota, D.C., Capital District, Colombia The Credit Risk Analyst is a developing professional role that applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. The analyst helps identify policy gaps, formulates policies, interprets data, makes recommendations, researches factual information, identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. The analyst integrates established disciplinary knowledge within their specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices, develops a working knowledge of industry practices and standards, and has limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Responsibilities Accurately spread business and personal financial statements and business and individual tax returns on a timely basis and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Citibank policies. Ensure that financial data for simple to complex credits are mapped appropriately into the bank's matrix and analysis tool. Provide comments to the judgmental Underwriter on significant items in the financials and may be involved in credit structure and loan pricing; be a specialist for a designated industry and effectively interact with Credit Officers and Relationship Managers. Spread new, renewal and interim financial statements and business and individual tax returns in accordance with bank guidelines, focusing on complex statements (e.g., Not-For-Profit). Provide succinct analysis based on customers, peers, the portfolio, and the industry. Provide preliminary analysis of simple to complex credits, including calculation of cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral coverage, and guarantor net worth. Coordinate with Credit Officers, Credit Analysts, other Credit Center and Relationship Managers. Act in an advisory role for the Credit Officers/Relationship Managers on loan agreement/covenants clarification and monitoring. Complete quality assurance reviews to ensure application packages and analysis are thorough and accurate prior to forwarding for underwriting. May act as an industry specialist with responsibility for SBA/EXIM loan analysis. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, applying sound ethical judgment and reporting control issues. Qualifications Strong English communication skills (verbal and written). 0–2 years prior experience in a financial institution focused on credit analysis and spreading software. Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial regulations, products, and credit analysis. Ability to analyze business and personal financial statements with respect to GAAP and Citibank policies. Education Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
