Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full Stack Engineer Senior with a strong background in Next.js, React, Python/Flask, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable web applications. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our web applications, working closely with a cross-functional team to create efficient, user-friendly, and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop front-end components and user interfaces using Next.js and React, ensuring seamless user experiences across various devices and browsers.
- Implement back-end services and APIs using Python and/or Flask, incorporating best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Design, develop, and optimize database schemas using PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and efficient query performance.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate on the deployment and maintenance of applications, monitoring performance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and proactively propose innovative solutions to enhance our technology stack.
- Initial Training: New team members will be required to work onsite at our Sworkz offices in Medellín for an initial training period of 2-4 weeks. This immersive experience will help you get acquainted with our company culture, processes, and team dynamics.
- Remote Work: Following the training period, you will transition to a remote work setup, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
- In-Person Meetings: While the majority of your work will be remote, there will be occasional in-person meetings with the team to foster collaboration and maintain strong working relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Full Stack Software Engineer, with a strong portfolio showcasing projects involving Next.js, React, Python/Flask, and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in modern front-end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ES6, and responsive design principles.
- Extensive experience building dynamic and interactive user interfaces using React, along with a deep understanding of state management, component life cycles, and UI/UX best practices.
- Strong back-end development skills using Python and/or Flask, including API design, routing, authentication, and database integration.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience working with PostgreSQL, ORM, including schema design, query optimization, and data migration.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug, optimize, and refactor code.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate and work within a team.
