What can you expect in a “Associate Data Engineer” role with TaskUs:

  1. Create new data pipelines, database architectures, and ETL processes.
  2. Gather requirements, perform vendor and product evaluations, deliver solutions, and provide training and documentation.
  3. Handle design and development, tuning, deployment, and maintenance of information, advanced data analytics, and physical data persistence technologies.
  4. Establish analytic environments required for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  5. Implement business requirements and processes, build ETL configurations, create pipelines for the Data Warehouse, research new technologies, and build proof-of-concepts.
  6. Build and maintain extract-transform-load (ETL) and/or extract-load-transform (ELT) processes for DW and Data Lake.
  7. Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis.
  8. Perform the design and extension of data marts, metadata, and data models.
  9. Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (MBA or MS degree is a plus) or 1-2 years experience in lieu of a degree.
  2. Knowledge of Python, Apache Kafka, and AWS.
  3. At least 1 year of broad information technology experience.
  4. Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts with understanding of traditional and MPP database designs, star and snowflake schemas with at least 1-2 years of data modeling.
  5. At least 1 year of hands-on development experience using ETL Tools.
  6. Knowledge on the architecture, design, and implementation of MPP Databases such as Teradata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  7. 1-year development using Cloud-based analytics solutions preferable AWS or GCP.
  8. Knowledge of designing and implementing streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or Segment.
  9. At least 1 year of experience using Python in a cloud-based environment is a plus.
  10. Knowledge of NoSQL DBs is preferred but not required.
  11. Knowledge in Database Tuning and ETL tuning.
  12. Ability to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
  13. Structured thinker and effective communicator.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in a relevant field or advanced certifications in business analytics or data science.
  2. Prior experience in a business insights or data analysis role, preferably in a similar industry or sector.
  3. Knowledge of specific domain areas, such as marketing, finance, or operations, relevant to the organization.
  4. Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modeling.
  5. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
  6. Strong business acumen and the ability to connect data insights to strategic objectives.
  7. Proven track record of delivering impactful insights and recommendations to drive business growth.

Education / Certifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as business analytics, data science, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
  2. Certifications in data analysis, data science, or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
